STUART, Iowa (May 16) - Sunday night's racing action at Stuart Speedway found
another Pruitt in victory lane.
This time, it was Mike Pruitt of Stuart leading all the way in capturing the 20-lap IMCA Modified main event. Terry Pruitt was the winner a week ago, but this week found himself restarting from the back after an early-race flat tire forced him to the pits for a change. Mike Pruitt won over veteran Des Moines driver Dave Farren, Josh Pruitt (Dexter), Chris Pruitt (Stuart) and Bobby Bowman (Winterset).
The racing Murray brothers from Hartford each posted feature victories Sunday, too.
Jason Murray scored a victory in the IMCA Stock Car feature, while Jacob Murray won the first of two IMCA Hobby Stock mains.
Jason Murray won over Maynard Davis III (Runnells), Bob Daniels (Des Moines), Jay Cain (Waukee) and Dave Baugh (Jefferson) in the 15-lap stock car event.
Jacob Murray won the first hobby stock 12-lapper over John Watson (Des Moines), Justin Maschke (Knoxville), Randy Embrey (Granger) and Jason Pruitt, Minburn. The second hobby stock feature was won by Knoxville's Bill Bonnett, who led all the way over Chad Waddell (Stuart), Larry Embrey (Granger), Jamie Schirm (Dexter) and Scott Durlin (State Center).
Shane Hunter of Afton won the 12-lap dwarf car feature ahead of Fred Schimmels (Van Meter), Randy Bryan (Story City), Mike Morrill (Altoona) and Jimmy May (DeSoto).
May's 13-year-old son, Joshua, ended Jeromy Christensen's (Greenfield) unbeaten string at Stuart this season in the front-wheel drive division. May won over Christensen, Michael Ross (Des Moines), James Lyman (Winterset) and Chad Kusel (Ogden).
The team of Cook and Warner from Casey won the two-person cruiser feature.
