STUART, Iowa (June 6) – It was 1-2-3 for the Pruitt family Sunday
night at Stuart Speedway with Josh, Chris and Terry finishing in those
positions after 20 laps of IMCA Modified racing.
Also winning features Sunday night were Dave Baugh (Jefferson) in the
IMCA Stock Car feature; Bill Bonnett (Knoxville) in the IMCA Hobby Stocks;
Shane Hunter (Afton) in Dwarf Cars; Chad Kugel (Ogden) in Front Wheel Drive;
and the team of Howell and Bushnell (Madrid) in the two-person cruisers.
Ron Bash of Stuart led the modified feature early and was able to hold
off all challengers until about midway in the event when Chris Pruitt got past
and into the lead. Meanwhile, Josh Pruitt worked his way forward and, later,
passed both Terry and Chris Pruitt for the lead.
Bobby Bowman of Winterset worked his way back through the pack after
pitting to change tires and finished fourth with Joe College of Earlham
rounding out the top five.
Baugh, the track’s defending stock car points champion, held off
Maynard Davis III of Runnells to win the stock car main with Curt Ganoe of
Stuart surviving a first-lap crash to finish third. Jerry McElderry of Altoona
and Bob Daniels of Des Moines rounded out the top five.
Bonnett was an easy winner in the hobby stock main, taking the flag
ahead of Josh Reynolds (Greenfield), Nyle Godwin (Redfield), Andrew Burg
(Adel) and Steve Renslow (Stuart).
Hunter led virtually the entire distance and won the dwarf main over
Randy Rudolf (Grand Junction), Fred Schimmels (Van Meter), Rick Dennis
(Granger) and Jimmy May (DeSoto).
Kugel topped the front wheel drive main with Jeromy Christensen of
Greenfield second, Blake Miller of Des Moines third, Josh May of DeSoto fourth

The front wheel drive feature was given the red and checkered flags a
